Siya Shelar is an Immigration Paralegal at Ostrom Law Office, whose focus is assisting clients with family-based immigration and US citizenship applications. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities in 2026 with a major in Political Science and a Minor in Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Justice.

Siya has various professional experience spanning across the public sector, including working as a Program Assistant for the Ward 2 office of the Minneapolis City Council and as a Policy Intern at Standpoint. She also worked at UMN’s Center for Writing as a writing tutor during her undergraduate career.

Siya was born in India, immigrating to the U.S. with her family when she was young. She has first-hand experience navigating various elements of the U.S. immigration process and aids Ostrom clients in doing the same to achieve their own goals.

Outside of work, Siya enjoys reading, thrifting, going to concerts, traveling, watching sports (especially football and basketball), and spending time with loved ones.
